Continuous Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE):

As you are aware the CBSE has reformed the system of education under the board.

The new system would evaluate the students both in the scholastic and non- scholastic areas of life skills, attitudes and values, sports and games and co-curricular activities.

This system is known as CCE (Continuous Comprehensive Evaluation).

The Board is introducing the system to reduce stress and anxiety at the time of final examination and also for the alround personality development of the student.

For this purpose the secondary classes from VI to X will have 2 semesters – April to October and November to March.

Students will be evaluated on a continuous basis. The evaluation will be on subjects taught in the class and also on his / her participation in co-curricular activities, sports and games. His / her attitude towards teachers, classmates and parents and his / her ability to work in a group and participation in projects inside and outside the school especially with regard to environment will be evaluated.

By this system, your children will get even more personal attention and interaction between the teachers and parents will be more frequent. But parents should note that the children will have to work regularly not only at the time of examination.

GRADING SYSTEM :

From academic year 2010, the CBSE has introduced grading system for Grade IX and X. The same will be followed for grade VI to VIII.

• Besides the academic areas, the student will have to do well in the non scholastic areas. Students will be assessed on these and grades will be given for different skills.

• For the above evaluation, the students are assessed on life skills which consists of thinking skills, social skills and emotional skills, values and attitudes (towards teachers, environment, school programmes), club activities (eco club, heath and wellness club), scientific activities, literary activities, etc.
